Founded in 1991, Enate de Viñedos y Crianzas del Alto Aragón began operating with only 25 hectares of vineyards, which grew steadily over the years until they became the 500 hectares currently owned by the company.

Located at an altitude around 600 metres above sea level in the heart of Somontano, the Enate vines are protected by the Pyrenees and enjoy temperature differences up to 15oC between daytime and nighttime, a key factor in allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and steadily.

In the 12,000 square-meter facility, state-of-the-art equipment is used to craft the Enate wines with great precision and attention to detail. The company has over 4,000 oak barrels, 70% French and 30% American.

The wines produced by Enate are precise, elegant and conceived along a modern style. The production is divided into 85% red wines, 10% white wines and 5% rosé wines.

ELABORATION:
After destemming and crushing, the musts of each grape variety (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) fermented separately at 24ºC in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine remained in 225-liter French and American oak barrels for six months, the time necessary to give it a touch of distinction.

TASTING NOTES:
Medium layer cherry color. Suggestive and complex nose of forest fruits (currant, blackberry), with elegant floral nuances (violet) and hints of pepper, vanilla and undergrowth. Soft and round on the palate, on a soft tannic mattress, which opens the way to a tasty finish, with roasted notes. Balanced acidity, which will make it improve in the bottle for the next five years.

WINEMAKER’S IMPRESSIONS
A wine with a cosmopolitan character, easy to drink. Its aroma, in which the varietal character predominates over the tertiary aromas of the ageing process together with its velvety tannins, make it an authentic wine for all audiences.

PAIRING
Having a wide range of gastronomic options, it combines with roasts, meats and cheeses, and also pairs with fish in sauce or a grilled octopus with creamy potato and paprika, as well as some ravioli filled with eggplant and tomato served with basil and extra virgin olive oil.

LABEL
Specially designed for ENATE by the artist Carrera Blecua.
