70% Malbec & 30% Cabernet Sauvignon
Mendoza, Argentina
Paraje Altamira, with its high altitude and cool microclimate, has become synonymous with world-class Malbecs. The soils of Paraje Altamira are very diverse, with patches of sandy, rocky and silty soils dispersed throughout the vineyard. At the moment of harvest, each soil pro-le imparts distinct aromatic and flavor pro-les to the Malbec fruit - floral notes in the sandy patches, stony minerality in the rocky areas, and dark fruits in the silty soils.
ZaHa means "heart" in Mendoza's native Huarpe language. With deep, sprawling roots, the vines in the Tomal vineyard literally extract the "Blood of the Earth" from deep within the rocky limestone sub soil.
Tasting Notes:
Very attractive, primary fruit complexity here with ripe blackberries, plums and raspberries. The palate has a super smooth core of rich dark fruit with black cherries and licorice. Good depth and balance. Seamless. Drink or hold.
French oak for 1 year, 10% new. Single vineyard.
