Our family estate extended over 10 hectares is, and that rarely occurs, 70% located in the « Grand Cru Goldert » location, which heart is the Clos Saint-Imer. This is a 5 hectares vineyard well-known for its iconic cuvees of Gewurztraminer and Muscat, that have a long-keeping potential. Land of reference since the Middle Ages, its history is closely linked to a historical monument's one : the most beautiful roman steeple that can be found in Gueberschwihr, one of the oldest wine growing village of the Alsace department, in the South of Colmar.
Riesling grapes for wine of the same name monosortovogo "Riesling" is grown in the appellation Alsace (Alsace AOC). In this area Domain Ernest Burne owns quite extensive vinogradikami with a rich diversity of varieties: along with Riesling are grown as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Muscat and Sylvaner.
In the production of its wines Domain Ernest Burne adheres to a single technology with small nuances depending on the vintage. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum maturity stage. In the archives of Alsace preserved ancient parchments, indicating that in 1345 the name of St. Immer were called beautiful vineyards "Sanktimeriushalde" in a large wine-growing region in the area Gebershvira. Believing in the strength and power of the land, Ernest Burn from a family of winemakers with thirty- year history began in 1934 to restore these historic vineyards, divided into parts during the revolution destroyed by wars and invasion of phylloxera. He bought land, built the wall, rebuild roads and most importantly - planted vines, which began to give excellent results. Today, the next generation continue the great work of his ancestor. Family strives to be worthy of this great land and Ernest, living and working in a deep respect for nature and adhering to the highest standards of winemaking. More: https://eng.winestyle.ru
