In 1993, three of Napa Valley’s most storied winemakers, Helen Turley, Bob Levy and Randy Dunn, gathered around the Pahlmeyer blending table enjoying and assessing wine (from the ‘92 vintage) with winery founder, Jayson Pahlmeyer. They mused about the results coming through in the glass and immediately recognized the potential for another extraordinary wine that would complement the Pahlmeyer brand – and voila, Jayson was born.

Today, Jayson continues to follow the tradition of the famed Pahlmeyer label with the direction of Winemaker Katie Vogt. Jayson wines are born from the most renowned winegrowing region in the world - Napa Valley. Every vintage is meticulously made with the attention to detail for which Pahlmeyer is known and trusted.

The excellent 2019 growing season was long and even, with mild temperatures throughout the
summer months. A cool, wet winter and spring was followed by warm and sunny conditions that
lasted the duration of the growing season. Fruit development was consistent and clean, delivering
layered, mature fruit notes, bright acidity and outstanding texture.

The grapes were hand-picked from select vineyards in the Napa Valley. After entering the cellar, the
grapes were hand-sorted before gently whole-cluster pressed. After settling overnight, the wine was
fermented for roughly 45 days and then fermented and aged in French oak barrels, including 100%
malolactic fermentation.

This silky-smooth wine offers an appealing lift of crisp tropical fruit and subtle touches of oak for a
vibrant, layered Chardonnay. Notes of lemon meringue, poached pear, crushed granite and fresh
pineapple juice offer incredible structure to the palate. Deeper into this well-textured wine are richer
hints of butterscotch, almond cream, salted caramel and crème brûlée, finishing bright and playful.
Pair this inviting Chardonnay with a grilled pork chop in a mustard-thyme cream sauce with a side of
rosemary-herb roasted potatoes, or with a cheese pairing of aged gouda with dried apricots.

Jayson wines are born from two of the most renowned winegrowing regions in the world — the iconic
Napa Valley and the pioneering Sonoma Coast. Every vintage is meticulously made with the attention
to detail for which Pahlmeyer is known and trusted, while capturing the spirit of its founder whose huge
personality, humor and joy for living are an integral part of the Pahlmeyer legacy.
