Zaha means "heart" in the local Huarpe Indian language of Mendoza. This wine is meant to represent the heart of the privileged, high altitude Malbec terrior of Paraje Altamira. The Toko vineyard which means "stone" in Huarapes, is located at 4,000 ft elevation and BOATS a cool climate growing area with a very unique soil profile which is at the "heart" of Zaha.
The rich aroma of the wine demonstrates hints of black olives, ripe black fruits, blackberries and blueberries, framed by shale nuances. The wine has a full, balanced, rich taste with hints of blackberry jam, creamy chocolate and vanilla tones, silky tannins, fresh acidity and a long aftertaste with hints of mocha and bright touches of black currant.
Pairing suggestions: Wine can be served with hamburgers, fried veal, beef, hearty soups and rolls.
