Pouilly-Fuisse, Burgundy, France
Domaine Auvigue faces the majestic Roche de Solutré, in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Since 1946, the Auvigue family's wine-making tradition and know-how have been passed down from generation to generation. Rich in history, the estate is a specialist in the great white wines of the Mâconnais. A pioneer in parcel-based vinification, it offers different cuvées depending on the terroir. The vines are located around the Solutré rock on clay-limestone soils with a dominant limestone content. Fermentation and vinification in Burgundy barrels of 1 to 3 wines (Allier origin) and in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on fine lees for 12 months.
A decadent golden green color, this wine charms with delicate aromas of orange peel and spice. The palate is mineral-driven—full bodied, rich and round with notes of hazelnut and white flower. Hints of pepper linger on the lengthy finish.
