This wine has a real presence in the glass, with a lovely pale-golden hue. There's a warming toastiness to the nose, a notable hint of citrus and clementine, with notes of almond and herb.
The palate is bold, weighty and full-bodied, there's toasted almond, hazelnut and notes of dried orchard fruit. There's an element of delicate spice and minerality with a creaminess, almost buttery character to the finish which completes with a cleansing citrus zing. The finish is lengthy, warming and complex. This really is full-on, intense white Burgundy.
A white Burgundy from the village of Rully in the southern part of the region. The fruit was hand-harvested and then fermented and aged in French oak. Fuller-bodied on the palate with great fruit and freshness. A great match for soft and aged cheeses.
Like its predecessor, this 2020 Rully is a wine that will bring great pleasure to those who enjoy the richer, more textured, rounded style of chardonnay from the Burgundy region. Its home is at the dinner table in the presence of fine food and fine company. Drink Now - 2025
About the Wine Maker
Roger Jobard, a nursery owner by profession, created his domaine in Rully in the 1970s. The farm was taken over in 2002 by his daughter Claudie Jobard, who added the most beautiful plots of her mother (Laurence Billard)'s domaine in Pommard. In addition to her domaine, Claudie Jobard is also the technical manager of Maison Remoissenet and continues her nursery business, a family specialty for many generations. The wines of this domaine are particularly attractive because of their good quality/price ratio.
