This interesting, original blend comes from three different vineyards. It is a wine of southern Dalmatian character, made of Croatian varieties enriched with Syrah. In this blend, 60% Plavac mali, 35% Babić with just a hint of Syrah make a good match and create a nice wine with delightful aromas of red fruits and Mediterranean spices.

A medium body wine, with soft tannins, a pleasing acidity and freshness.

Plavac Mali is a cross between Crljenak Kaštelanski (ancestor of Zinfandel) and Dobričić grapes. It is the primary red varietal grown along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. The name refers to the small blue grapes that the vines produce: in Croatian plavo means blue; mali means small. It is the most grown red variety in Croatia. Plavac Mali is known for producing rich, flavorful wines that are high in both alcohol and tannins. Babić is a native Croatian red wine grape common to the Northern Dalmatia region where it has been grown for hundreds of years. Grown on poor, karst limestone soils, Babić is a variety that, with good winemaking skills, can produce some of the best balanced and unique red wines from the Dalmatian region. Babić has all the attributes to make a great wine: beautifully balanced extract, generous acids, rich tannins, attractive aromas, unique flavor intensity, and long finish. Babić is remarkably adaptable to the hot Mediterranean climate, retaining its freshness even during the driest years.

The vineyards are located in Hvar, Šibenik and Makarska.
Hand harvested, fermented in stainless-steel and oak barrels up to 28 C., the malolactic fermentation follows, and the wine is aged for 12 months in large oak barrels, transferred in stainless-
steel tanks for more aging, bottled and released 6 months after bottling.

The nose is dominated with typical aromas like cherries and earthy notes, while the palate is full of dark berries and peppery spices. Smooth, easy to drink wine of expressed fruity aromas.

It will pair well with sardines, ham, pizza or pasta with a tomato sauce, steak, goulash, or hard cheeses.
