Mendoza, Argentina
Caligiore is a family-owned winery devoted to the production of certified organic wines from Luján de Cuyo in Argentina. From 3,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the majestic Andes Mountain Range, each of their wines fully captures the unique terroir of the Upper Mendoza River Valley.
Founded with a view to developing sustainable business, local identity, social responsibility and care for the environment, the wines of Caligiore capture the true essence and culture of Mendoza, Argentina.
Arriving in Argentina from Italy as a result of hardships from WWI, Gustavo Caligiore’s grandfather began working in the vineyards of Mendoza. The family eventually purchased the vineyard for themselves and began farming organically, selling fruit to some of the biggest wine names in Argentina.
In 2002, the Caligiore family made the decision to start producing their own wines as a way of highlighting the care and effort put into their organic viticulture. Gustavo Caligiore runs the winery and vineyards with assistance from his father and a few close friends with long-standing family ties to the winery.
The Symphony range from Caligiore pays homage to winemaker Gustavo Caligiore's love of music and playing guitar. The Staccato Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon red blend is unwooded, with its beautiful structure and mouthfeel coming purely from the intense Mendoza fruit.
