In 1510, Lorenzo della Volpaia, built the Planetary Clock for Lorenzo de'Medici to track the positions of the heavenly bodies relative to the Earth, in order to exactly determine astrological influences over arts, sciences, agriculture. The same spirit guides them in crafting their wine.

The case for the winery being among the best in the entire country is strong but it just got way stronger. Most recently, they have added a Super Tuscan to their impressive fleet, and in true Volpaia fashion, it’s not just any Super Tuscan, it’s pretty darn unique.

Citto (Italian for good little boy) is grown on the same estate as their world class Chianti Riserva. It’s the selection of the best organic grapes of the Tuscan hills, a scrumptious certified Organic Super Tuscan that is every bit as energetic as it is currently criminally under-priced.

An exciting blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is made in 100% stainless steel vats, maximizing its youthful lift and preserving the aromatic fireworks show that flashes inviting notes of bing cherries, raspberry, blueberry and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, silky smooth and bursting out the seams– made to be enjoyed right away.
