100% Red Riesling
Rheingau, Germany
The Hirt-Gebhardt winery has its origins in the center of the traditional wine village of Martinsthal in the Rheingau where the Gebhardt winemaking family has been mentioned in documents since the end of the 30 Years' War. The current name of the winery came about through marriage in 1948. Over time, Christian Gebhardt, the current senior, with his wife Elke and the support of his parents, has grown a small family business into a thriving winery with 23 hectares of vineyards, Today, his son Christian Gebhardt Jr., owner of the business and follows in his father's footsteps. He and his wife Claire, continue the family's winemaking tradition together. In order to withstand the structural change and further development in viticulture, they decided to move from the cramped location in Martinsthal to Eltville, Sonnenberg. With a lot of work, passion and, above all, the support of a strong family, they set up their new winery in Eltville.
A Roto (red) Riesling, a mutation of the original form of Vinifera Riesling. Red grape skin but a white wine. The loess clay soil with gravel content in the Martinsthaler Rodchen gives us a strong wine with a great aroma structure - lots of fruit and little acidity. Goes great with Asian dishes.
