78% Tempranillo & 22% Garnacha
Rioja, Spain
The Tempranillo grape (80%) comes from our 30-year-old La Cuesta and Montecillo estates, located in Fuenmayor and Cenicero. For the first time in the coupage of this brand, the Garnacha (20%) comes from La Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Baja) at 550 m above sea level. This 67-hectare estate has unbeatable conditions for growing this variety and is planted on very poor soil covered with boulders that, with low yields (less than 5,000 kg/ha), offer us a grape of great varietal typicity. , very rich in aromas and pleasant and fine structure.
The Tempranillo remained 36 months in American oak with an average age of 4 years and the Garnacha, 30 months in barrels of 2 and 3 American oak wines.
Medium-high layer cherry red with an intense pinkish edge.Great intensity where the spicy aromas of black pepper, clove, cinnamon and vanilla stand out, enveloping fine notes of red berries. Pleasant structure, balanced acidity and delicate and enveloping tannins. With a wide aftertaste, its round and elegant finish stands out.
An optimal wine to accompany grilled meats, roasts, small game, semi-cured cheeses, Iberian sausages, etc.
