The 2017 Yarden Petit Verdot exhibits ripe red and black fruit notes, along with characters of spice, flowers, tobacco, chocolate and French oak. This flavorful and full-bodied wine displays a bit of tannic structure, which is typical to the variety.
The 2017 Yarden Petit Verdot is made from grapes harvested from vineyards in the central and southern Golan. The wine aged in French oak barrels, of which 40% were new, for 18 months. 14.5% ABV.
While enjoyable now, the 2017 Yarden Petit Verdot should improve in the bottle for a number of years, and stay in excellent drinking condition for years to come. We love pairing the wine with rich meat dishes such as tender osso buco or slow-cooked lamb spareribs, or an assortment of aged and smoked cheeses.
